Avoiding those Classic Disney World Vacation Mistakes For A Perfect Florida Family Vacation

Disney’s theme parks have an advantage over every other company that operates entertainment venues of this kind – the words Disney World and Disneyland are burned into every baby’s brain from birth in a way no other provider of mere themed entertainment can ever hope to match. Parents, who remember everything about Disneyís parks from the time they pestered their own parents to take them, know that Disney really doesn’t live up to its hype. But go they must, for their children. They need to accept the terrible exhaustion of covering everything in every huge Disney park, standing in who knows how many interminable lines, spending too much money on the tasteless food at Disney’s restaurants and watching their wallet with all the opportunities there are to waste money. But there are ways in which you can take a little control back on a family Disney World vacation. Here are your Disney World vacation tips for a little more control and a little less feeling ripped off.

For a great Florida familily vacation, let’s start with a tip for the mistake that most families make that leads to the most misery -trying to get your money’s worth and taking everything in on one four-day trip. The thing is, and you might as well admit it, Disney World, with its four themed parks and two water parks, is just too big for anyone to try to cover over one visit. Why, it’s more than 1000 acres in all, and it’s filled with lines to wait in everywhere. People just feel miserable trying and trying and never making it all. You need to limit your itinerary and not run yourself ragged. That way, youíll actually be able to absorb more of the stuff you actually do see. And youíll be able to enjoy the fine hotel you’re in as well as the lavishly designed pool that comes with it (pools in Orlando hotels tend to be mini water parks).

The lines at Disney’s theme parks are such a legendary problem that Disney has worked out some elaborate ways to deal with them. For instance, when park agents notice that the lines on the rides are longer than would be tolerable, they call for one of the parkís ready-to-go impromptu parades with all the fanfare, dancing and Disney characters you would want. They hope that this will draw a few hundred people away from their lines and shorten those lines. But there are things you can personally do that could help you as well. For instance, you could promise yourself that youíll never time your Disney World vacation with a school vacation. That’s when the entire world decides to go to Orlando. Summer school vacation is also the most humid time possible in Florida. Time your Florida family vacations at Disney World to occur in September, and not only will you enjoy lower prices, you’ll have smaller crowds to deal with too. The sun will be warm enough without the weather being muggy, and your children will probably be ecstatic to be pulled out of school for a couple of days. That’ll probably make them more happy than the vacation itself.
